On 15.02.2020, the Bishop of Lugazi Diocese Rt. Rev. Christopher Kakooza commissioned thirty Catechists at Mary Queen of Peace Lugazi Cathedral. In his homily, the bishop urged the catechists to follow the true teaching of the Catholic Church. He challenged them to always read the Bible and meditate upon the word of God. He advised them to remain humble and obedient as they serve God’s People.
In his speech he called upon female catechists who are not yet trained to register with their parish priests such that they can enroll for the training at the Diocesan Catechists Training center which is currently under construction at Namagunga Parish.
The Pastoral Coordinator Rev. Fr. Godfrey Mboowa congratulated the catechists and urged them to remain obedient to their parish priests. He cautioned them to be hardworking and desist from any actions which may tannish their good name.
He thanked mostly Rev. Fr. Dr. Ignatius Ndawula for training the catechists and also the Christians of Naggalama Parish for the material and financial support they accorded the Catechists during their cause of study.
