House Project

Lugazi Diocese commissioned a massive housing projectwhich will boost the diocese’s financial self-reliance.

According to Bishop Christopher Kakooza, the Ordinary of Lugazi diocese, all the money (estimated to be in billions), was contributed by the local Christians.

“We thank God who has enabled us to complete this housing project. All the money we have used was contributed by you, the local Christians. Not even a single coin came from abroad. We thank you for your generosity. Please keep it up.”

The project was launched by the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, His Excellency Archbishop Luigi Bianco. After the commissioning function, Bishop Kakooza blessed all the buildings (that is, the shopping centre, the restaurant, the teachers’ houses and the health center).

The newly-commissioned housing project is the monument for the diocese’s silver jubilee.

The function was also witnessed by the Bishop Emeritus of Lugazi, Dr. Matthias Ssekamaanya, and the Vicar-General, the Rt. Rev Msgr. Dr. Richard Kayondo.
