Lugazi, Uganda – July 26, 2025: The Catholic Diocese of Lugazi will today rejoice in a moment of great spiritual significance as it celebrates the Ordination of new priests and Deacons at Lugazi Cathedral.
The sacred ceremony, presided over by His Lordship the Rt. Rev. C. Kakooza , will mark the formal entry of the 14 candidates into the priesthood, answering God’s call to serve His people.
The event is expected to draw clergy, religious, and faithful from across the diocese and beyond, in a powerful witness to unity, faith, and mission. The ordination Mass will include the laying on of hands, prayer of consecration, and the vesting of the new priests — a tradition rooted in the apostolic heritage of the Church.
Speaking ahead of the celebration, Bishop Kakooza said, “This ordination is a sign of God’s continued love for His Church and a call for all of us to renew our own commitment to discipleship and service.”
The newly ordained priests will be assigned to various parishes and apostolates across the diocese, strengthening the Church’s mission in evangelization, pastoral care, and community development.
