It is with deep sorrow and reverence that we announce the passing of Rev. Fr. Anthony Gesuula, a devoted priest and former Treasurer of the Diocese of Lugazi. The Diocese mourns a faithful servant of God who dedicated his life to the Church, responsible stewardship, and the advancement of diocesan mission.

Fr. Gesuula served the Diocese of Lugazi with unwavering commitment, integrity, and humility. In his role as Treasurer, he played a vital part in strengthening financial accountability, supporting diocesan development programs, and ensuring the prudent and transparent management of Church resources. His leadership significantly contributed to the stability and growth of the Diocese and its pastoral and social mission.counselor to the faithful, and a living witness to Gospel values of service, simplicity, and sacrifice.

His ministry touched many lives across parishes, communities, and Church institutions. The fruits of his dedication remain visible in the systems he helped build and the people he inspired to live faithfully.

We also extend our prayers and solidarity to all affected by his passing, as arrangements are made in his honor:

  • His body is being received from Nsambya Hospital and brought to Lugazi Cathedral
  • Funeral Mass and vigil services will be held at Lugazi Cathedral
  • Final Requiem Mass and burial rites will take place at Namagunga Parish

We give thanks to God for the gift of his life and ministry. May the Lord, whom he served faithfully, grant him eternal rest and peace.

Beyond his administrative responsibilities, Fr. Gesuula was widely known as a humble shepherd of souls, a compassionate pastor, and a man deeply rooted in prayer. He was a mentor to many, a trusted
