Former Vice Rector \u2013 St. Joseph\u2019s Seminary Nyenga
Priest of Lugazi Diocese<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Catholic Church in Uganda, especially the faithful of Lugazi Diocese and the community of St. Joseph\u2019s Seminary Nyenga, mourns the passing of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Mukasa, a devoted priest, teacher, and formator of young seminarians whose life was dedicated to the service of God and the formation of future leaders of the Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fr. Mukasa served faithfully as the Vice Rector of the seminary, where he devoted many years to the intellectual, spiritual, and moral formation of young men discerning their vocation to the priesthood. His ministry at Nyenga Seminary extended over nearly three decades, during which he became widely respected as a dedicated educator and mentor who shaped the lives of countless seminarians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ordained to the priesthood at Rubaga Cathedral by Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala, Fr. Mukasa began his pastoral ministry as a curate at Kiziba Parish before being assigned to Nyenga Seminary. From that time onward, he remained committed to the seminary apostolate, dedicating his priesthood to the education and formation of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the seminary he taught several subjects including Latin, English, Geography, History, Christian Religious Education, and Social Etiquette. Through these disciplines, he did more than teach academic knowledge; he formed character, instilled discipline, and inspired faith in the young seminarians entrusted to his care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those who encountered Fr. Mukasa remember him as a humble priest, a patient teacher, and a spiritual father. His life reflected the values of dedication, simplicity, and fidelity to the Gospel. Former students and colleagues recall how his quiet guidance, wisdom, and example of priestly commitment left a lasting impact on generations of learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022, he celebrated his Silver Jubilee of priesthood surrounded by friends, family, students, and former students who had benefited from his long years of service. The celebration was a moment of gratitude for nearly three decades of faithful ministry in the vineyard of the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His passing has left a deep void in the Church community. Leaders, former students, and members of the faithful have described him as an exemplary priest and a committed educator who nurtured many young Ugandans in wisdom and virtue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, as the Church bids farewell to Fr. Emmanuel Mukasa, we remember a shepherd who quietly but profoundly shaped the future of the Church through the formation of young seminarians. His legacy lives on in the many priests, leaders, and faithful Christians who passed through the halls of Nyenga Seminary under his guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May the Lord whom he served faithfully welcome him into eternal joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
