A Historic Day of Faith, Dedication, and Renewal \u2013 7th December 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The Christian community of Lugazi Diocese gathered in great joy as St. Francis Makata<\/strong>, formerly a Sub-Parish of Namagunga Parish, was officially elevated to a Diocesan Prayer Center<\/strong> under the patronage of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary<\/em>. The event was graced by His Grace Paul Ssemogerere<\/strong>, the Archbishop of Kampala, who presided over the colourful celebration marked by prayer, thanksgiving, and profound unity.<\/p>\n\n

This historic day featured several key moments:
\u2022 The opening and blessing<\/em> of the newly constructed Church
\u2022 The blessing of the beautiful Marian grotto<\/em>
\u2022 The installation of the priest in-charge<\/em>
\u2022 The blessing of the new priests’ residence<\/em><\/p>\n\n

\u201cThis is the House of God\u2014A Gift Given Back to Him\u201d \u2013 Archbishop Ssemogerere<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

In his homily, Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere expressed deep gratitude to God for the gift of a new Prayer Center for Lugazi Diocese. He commended the Ordinary of Lugazi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Christopher Kakooza<\/strong>, for his pastoral guidance and all people of goodwill for their unwavering generosity.<\/p>\n\n

In a special way, he thanked Captain Roy Zziwa and his wife Daisy<\/strong>, whose remarkable generosity made the construction of the magnificent Church possible. He encouraged the Christians of Lugazi Diocese to fully utilize the prayer center as a place of spiritual nourishment, healing, and renewal.<\/p>\n\n

The Archbishop also made a pastoral appeal to the faithful of Makata:<\/p>\n\n

\n

\u201cTurn to Jesus. Do not fall into the temptations of witchcraft. Let this place be a home of true faith, peace, and conversion.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A New Shepherd for Makata: Rev. Fr. Abooki Installed<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Representing the Diocesan Bishop, the Vicar General of Lugazi Diocese, Msgr. Dr. Richard Kayondo<\/strong>, installed Rev. Fr. Abooki Dominic Savio<\/strong> as the priest in-charge of the new Prayer Center. Fr. Abooki, formerly the Spiritual Director at St. Joseph Nyenga Minor Seminary, received the keys to the center and was officially commissioned for ministry.<\/p>\n

Msgr. Kayondo emphasized that the Prayer Center, while located under Namuyenje Parish<\/strong>, will operate as the central home of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement (CCR)<\/strong> in Lugazi Diocese. He encouraged all Christians to make full use of this sanctuary of prayer, retreat, and spiritual revival.<\/p>\n

Fr. Abooki, in his remarks, thanked God for entrusting him with this mission and called on the faithful to walk with him:<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us build this Prayer Center together. Support, pray, and work with me as we grow this sacred place.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
